Your surroundings matter and you need a change now and then. It’s better for your health to get out into nature and get some good energy, sunlight and fresh air than staying cooped up indoors. Explore for yourselves the importance of being outside in nature for your wellbeing, and the science behind it. There is a great TEDx Talk from December 12, 2017 that was given by Professor David Strayer everyone should watch on nature, multi-tasking and brain health. The next is a video by Jon Young on connecting with nature and each other and it’s monumental importance.

Staying active even when the weather isn’t great is also important for good brain health. The brain needs the benefits exercise gives the body as a whole, and the stress relief it gives the spirit and the mind from the beneficial chemical responses. It’s a great example as to why going for a walk or doing a physical activity for 15 to 30 minutes boosts mood. Feeling sluggish and mentally weighed down? Go for a walk, a bike ride or pick your favorite activity.
